Healthy Selfie Geopark trail – Paignton
Paignton harbour to Preston Sands
This Healthy Selfie Geopark Journey is an accessible trail around Paignton’s seafront, which aims to encourage people to step into the fresh air and discover some extraordinary facts along the way. The routes are wide with flat walkways and avoid areas that tend to get overly busy or loud.
Leaflets can be picked up from the English Riviera Visitor Information Centre, Vaughan Parade, Torquay TQ2 5JG. Alternatively, download the trails here: https://healthy-selfie.co.uk/walks/#geopark-journeys
We point out parking and public transport options, toilets and Changing Places toilets (where available).
The highlights of this route include:
- Paignton Harbour, where you’ll find Harbour Lights pub which was once a fish cellar and net store
- Paignton Sands which has been named the prettiest pink beach in the UK
- The pier which opened in 1879, that stretches 240 metres out to sea
- The Redcliffe Hotel built in 1850’s and once home to Paris Singer, heir to the Singer Sewing machine fortune
